Alexis Dr. apt., Lydia's recital, VBS, my cup is FULL

Just let me start out by saying you can tell it is summer, because my oldest two are still up!!! So as I am trying to write, my 8yr. old is standing here telling me what he wants for Christmas. (giggle)

OK, let me tell you how this week has gone: I have been teaching VBS at church, not getting home until 9:30pm. Yesterday Lexi bug had her Ortho doctor apt. (VERY disappointing), today Lydia Grace's dress rehearsal, and tomorrow night recital. Oh did I mention the day VBS started my husband left to go out of town, and will not be back until tomorrow night (after the recital).

And Jonathan is back with more of his Christmas list. (now he is giggling)

Now let me tell you about Alexis doctors apt. This was a big one because we were doing x-rays, and measuring and everything. Needless to say trying to get a almost 2yr. old to stand totally still for a few minutes. is nearly impossible. She was screaming and crying, stomping in place with her arms up yelling mommy, was how the x-rays went. The x-ray tech is trying to make her feet stay flat and legs straight, well hello, she can't put both feet flat on the floor, without bending one leg. OK I had to get that out, I know they have a tough job, trying to x-ray little people. I am just being a mom. So the ONE picture we got one foot she is up on her tippy toe. Her doctor tells me (for the second time) there in NOTHING that can be done, to fix it. So again being a mom, and thinking about all the technology that is out there. I ask what about a brace, surgery. a lift anything? And he can tell I am just not taking that for a answer. He very gently says there is nothing. Surgery, maybe when she is much older, and that consist of stopping the growth in her normal leg, Uh no thanks! The lift, maybe when she is older. Then he tells me, " it really isn't as bad as it seems to you". Well I know some of the other children he treats are so much worse off, but you know when it is your child you are like "NOT THAT BAD"? The good news is she is very active just like a normal almost 2yr. old. She runs VERY fast, and uses her leg really good. He said there is a good possibility that it will straighten it self out as she gets older. And just to let you know, this doctor has been doing this for a very long time, is VERY recommended, and I have been told by many, many people that he is the BEST when it come to children. So please keep praying for Gods great work on Lexi's leg and that no other problems come up. And next year you all can come see her up on stage in the recital with Lydia Grace.

Speaking of recital, the dress rehearsal was going well, then it began to rain, a lot!! And any of you who has been down this road knows that you have to go out and around to take your child back stage, and out and around to get them from back stage, with lots of stairs. Now this would be OK, with the exception of trying to do it with a stroller, make up case, costume bag, and a purse, in the RAIN. After rehearsal, we had her pictures made, thank goodness her hair is curly, and it doesn't go flat in the rain. (heehee) Needless to say after all that, we picked up something for dinner, came home, ate, and put on a movie.
Here is a picture ouf Lydia Grace and here BFF Kayla in their costumes. And oh yes those are black feathers in their hair.

Too cute...and I know that you are exhausted and ready for a reunion with your hubby. I totally understand what you are talking about with your little girl...we had a similar situation with Sam when he was little. Tell Jonanthan to lay off of that Christmas list and enjoy the summer. I had him in the Crafts Cabana one day this week - he is so cute! Check out my latest post....I would love for you to hold a show! CUTE STUFF....I tell you and you could start on that Christmas list for those girlies!
See you soon,
Kim

I bet the gift certificate was with Laura Townsend. She also teaches at HGBCS.

If you decide to do a show, I would love to do it for you. I enjoyed being with your family at Jonathan's party - they look like a fun group. :)

Hope you get to rest soon.
